Residents have begun selecting homes in the soon to-be-completed Grand Lodge at Touchmark at the Ranch located on SR 69 on the east edge of Prescott.
Christy VanderMolen, sales manager and retirement counselor at the newest full-service retirement community in Prescott, told the Quad Cities Business News, “We began last late February with the home selection process for potential residents.
VanderMolen said more than 235 people were on the waiting list. “More are inquiring every week. As people learn about the quality retirement lifestyle we have in the Quad Cities area, they really express interest.”
Many inquiries are from out-of-state. “After the severe winter so many people had across the country, they’re looking for a moderate climate and sunshine like we have here in Prescott. And we have breathtaking views in every direction.”
She described one couple from Tucson who brought their grandson with them when they looked at homes available. “I had to smile when the 12-year-old emphatically told them, ‘I want to come live with you. You’ve got everything I want at this place.’”
Several Home Sizes Available
VanderMolen and her staff show potential buyers 33 different available home floorplans in the Grand Lodge, ranging from studio homes to two-bedroom, two-and-a half-bathroom homes with a den.
“The one bedroom, one bath home with a den seems to be very popular. We’re selling a
lot of those,” VanderMolen said.
Not only do owners select their homes, they also have the option of selecting the kind of carpeting, countertops, cabinets and flooring they want.

Touchmark at the Ranch marketing representative Neal Sneller and Touchmark sales manager Christy VanderMolen discussed the impact of population growth with Prescott Unified School District Superintendent Joe Howard and PUSD Education Foundation president Krista Carmen. They agreed that additional tax revenues brought to the community by new home owners would have a positive impact on education funding.
