I’d like to introduce Dr. Raghav Mohindra, a board-certified geriatric and internal medicine specialist. Three As that are essential in Dr Mohindra’s life: Availability (24/7) Affability and Ability.
“I enjoy meeting one on one with all of my patients and take pride in my work,” Mohindra said. At the young age of 38, he has more than 17 years of experience in the medical field.
“Senior care has always been a passion of mine from a very young age, caring for my family members in India.” He shared, “I learned to speak English in my youth from my mother, who taught English in India.”
Determined and influenced by his parents to study, he graduated from medical school at the young age of 21. Gaining a vast knowledge in medicine was a goal of his. He studied all areas of medicine from his position as a Cardiology Resident at Fortis Heart Institute in Northern India. He was a lead lecturer in pathology at the National Dental College in Punjab. He also worked at a hospital in Mauritius for two years as a hospitalist in medicine and OB/GYN and then moved to the United States and became a citizen.
In the U.S., Dr Mohindra completed a three-year residency at AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center and followed up his education with a year-long Fellowship in Geriatrics at Baylor College of Medicine, Houston. He moved to Arizona to work for Banner as a Hospitalist at Del E. Webb Hospital and Boswell Hospital until October of 2011. Mohindra then started a private practice in October 2011 in his current office location on Bell & El Mirage in Surprise, Arizona.
“I have hospital privileges at Banner Del E. Webb and Boswell Hospital with the ability to access my patients’ medical records at all times at Bannerhealth & Mayo clinic,” he says. He is also the medical director of Sante of Surprise Rehab Center.
However, Mohindra isn’t all about work. He also enjoys being active by running, tennis, hiking, flying airplanes (Cessna 172) and simply being outdoors. That’s how he found Prescott.
Mohindra visited the area for the first time in 2010 and fell in love with it. After making house-calls at assisted living facilities, he quickly recognized the need for primary and geriatrics care in the Prescott area. Mohindra explained, “I subsequently started seeing patients at local assisted-living facilities and realized we needed to serve the local community in this very difficult time in health care crisis and provide multiple layers of value-based services in office settings.”
Mohindra and other physicians will be present at the new Prescott location. “We have two nurse practitioners and three doctors at the Crossings office. We look forward to becoming a part of this wonderful community by providing great care.”
