The public now is invited to eat at a newly opened restaurant and take part in health and fitness club activities, as The Clubhouse at Touchmark at the Ranch, 3150 Touchmark Blvd., was completed the first of the month.
According to Matthew Crawford, executive chef for The Finn Restaurant, the food served is what he calls“…contemporary American,” and features a wide variety of meals ranging from soups, salads and sandwiches to full course dinners.
Crawford said the restaurant could accommodate up to 48 in the interior dining area. In addition, private dining areas for up to 12 people have been designated. Also, when weather permits, an outdoor patio can accommodate large parties.
The restaurant staff of 14 includes Crawford and a sous chef, Eric Stieber. “We really want to hire local staff, and we’re still hiring, so those interested in working at this truly fine dining restaurant should contact us,” Crawford said.
Restaurant hours are Wednesday through Sunday: 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., for lunch; 4 p.m. to 9 pm., for dinner. Reservations are recommended, 928-632-7800.
The 18,000-square-foot Health and Fitness Club is intended to support and encourage the personal wellness of Touchmark members. Further, adults older than 50 from the outside community may join the club by paying the initial membership fee and subsequent monthly fee. Lisa Fry, certified director of health and fitness, emphasized that Touchmark residents do not have to pay any fees.
Fry, who has more than 25 years of professional experience, noted that the health club and fitness center is different from those commonly operating. She explained that anyone participating in activities first must go through a rigorous review process in order to determine what level of activities would be appropriate.
“Our club activities are intended to contribute to people’s healthy lives,” said Fry. “Our staff of trained fitness providers will work with all members in a controlled environment.”
The center has a diverse range of facilities, including a heated indoor pool suitable for shallow and deep-water exercise, lap swimming, a warm-water spa with jets and a locker room and towel service.
Additionally, it has an expansive series of exercise rooms with cardiovascular equipment, including treadmills, bikes, elliptical trainers and NuStep recumbent cross trainers.
Sessions with members will range from one-on-one personal training to small group training, she said. QCBN
