The Market Street Bungalows are expected to be a professionally managed luxury residential development.
Commonly viewed as the base of Glassford Hill and its slopes to the east, the development plan is known as the Bungalows on Market Street. Nearby will be the Kia auto dealership, a former Comfort Suites Hotel, and the Full Swing Batting Cages.
The seven-member Prescott Valley Town Council approved the development plan by a 5-2 vote during a council meeting on Aug. 26. Two members – Mayor Kell Palguta and Council member Don Packard – cast the “no” votes.
Prescott Valley Town Planner Mark Trinidad told Quad Cities Business News that applications, permit requests and other legal documents are in the process of being submitted for review.
Mark Reddie, vice president and principal with RVi Planning and Landscaping Architecture in Tempe, said the multi-million-dollar project will likely begin later this fall.
Reddie, who has more than 25 years of experience in community master planning, also said the project would involve the full scope of land preparation and construction processes and a lot of construction jobs. He indicated the buildings themselves will be constructed primarily from block, brick and stucco.
The Market Street Bungalows are expected to be a professionally managed luxury residential development. The one-story units will range from one-bedroom spaces, built as duplexes, to two- and three-bedroom stand-alone properties.
The PV Town Code requires that no fewer than 217 total parking spaces be planned on the site. Current planning is that 220 will be created, with 120 covered. The Town also stipulates that what are now “half” streets on Market Street and Great Western Drive will be fully expanded to 25-foot widths.
The gated community will have several active and passive amenities for residents near the entry. These will include the leasing office, a spa area, fire pits and barbecue grills, dog runs, turf lawn and shaded gathering areas. The site also will have landscaped storm water detention areas. QCBN
