The City of Prescott has wood chips available to the public at no charge starting tomorrow January 9. The wood chips may be picked up Monday through Saturday between 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Transfer Station at 2800 Sundog Ranch Road.
The wood chips are available on a first come, first serve and self-service basis for small loads. Loading help is available for large trailers or trucks. Please call ahead to verify loading help for large loads. All loads must be contained and covered before leaving the Transfer Station. Please bring adequate materials and tie downs to properly contain and cover your load.
“Wood chips work well for landscaping cover, erosion control, and weed control,” said Richard Tyree, Solid Waste Field and Facilities Supervisor. “People may not be thinking about their landscaping in the winter, but this is a good time to take preventative action,” he added.
