This has certainly been a year we will all remember. We have witnessed difficult times for students, families, businesses and our community. Unfortunately, we have lost some small businesses that just couldn’t survive. However, we have hope that the future can still be bright. Last month, we started witnessing things opening back up and a transition from “stay at home” to “practicing healthy and safe procedures.” Kids have been home for a few months and stores, restaurants and businesses have been empty or are being run with a skeleton workforce.
With moving forward in mind, we can look to the opportunities that lie ahead. People are tired of being cooped up inside. Families are going to want to go out and get dinner, go to the movies, go on vacation, shop in the stores and live life. Businesses and offices are going to be opening up and getting back to production. There will be an influx of activity in our community and hopefully the possibility for our community to bounce back and businesses to get very busy. That means that buildings that house these companies are going to need to clean up and prepare to provide a safe and healthy environment. There also will be a need to get things cleaned up in our homes.
Many companies that have determined they had an employee who had COVID-19 have shut down for a day or a few days to have a deep disinfectant cleaning. Even more businesses have announced ongoing general cleaning protocols. “It is not known exactly how long the novel coronavirus can stay alive on a surface,” said Dr. Jay C. Butler, deputy director for infectious diseases at the CDC. “Under real-world situations, it’s probably minutes, but it could be days,” he said. “It depends on the temperature, humidity and the type of surface.”
As we open back up, it will be imperative to have these buildings and homes deep cleaned so that we can start out clean and confident that employees and customers can return. After that, an ongoing cleaning protocol should be implemented.
Prescott Maid to Order partners with local deep mitigation company Puroclean to offer electro static fogging and deep disinfectant final cleaning to address airborne and surface contamination. The goal is to get things back up and running in a safe and responsible way, and then to keep it safe.
A positive outcome from this COVID-19 experience is that we are all learning more about good hygiene, safe procedures and the importance of keeping our environment clean.
At Prescott Maid to Order, we are looking forward to better days ahead and to helping our community stay clean and safe. QCBN
