As of April 16, Coconino County Health and Human Services has confirmed 297 positive cases and a total of 26 fatalities. Access to testing continues to be a significant challenge and, as a result, testing is being focused only on front line health care workers and those who are symptomatic with underlying health vulnerabilities.
The County was the first in the State to open drive up testing and has provided quarantine facilities for homeless individuals who have tested positive or are self-isolating because of potential exposure. Partnering with the State of Arizona, we will be opening a low-acuity facility at the Walgreens warehouse in Flagstaff. This will be an important facility to get in place to increase regional healthcare capacity.
