Our company has been part of this community for 15 years. As longstanding members of the business community in Prescott and Prescott Valley, I believe that I can say we are “rooted” in the community here. What a great feeling to know your neighbors and business owners and to have so many friends right here where we live and work.
There are lots of places where that is not quite so true. Often, people in other areas have to commute ridiculous distances to work and don’t have the opportunity that we have here to really get to know each other on a deeper, more personal level. Our friends are often our children’s friends’ parents, or the dance teacher. Maybe the guy who takes care of our plumbing is also the guy we see at so many community events.
Being involved also in the chambers of commerce enables us to see and visit with other like-minded entrepreneurs and business owners. Some of the business community peers in networking groups also may be among those we see at our local church. We have such a great opportunity here to be involved and connected with friends, neighbors, co-workers, business owners and customers. We love our community!
One way to love our community is by being involved in outreach and charitable causes. It also helps us to feel part of something. It enables us to have a goal, something to reach for and something to feel good about spending our time on. There are many opportunities in our community to help. Volunteering is one way to become involved in the community. There are lots of organizations right here such as: Th e Salvation Army, Meals on Wheels, Good Samaritan, Yavapai Humane Society, Yavapai Food Neighbors, Habitat for Humanity, Prescott Valley Library, People Who Care, Dorn Cares Lodges and so many more.
As a business, another way we can love our community is by being the best we can be and by providing quality, reputable services to our clients and customers. Remembering that our clients are also our neighbors, friends, co-workers, fellow church members and business peers, helps us to be motivated to be the best and do the best for the people we care about the most. Though it may be business, it is also personal. It is our personal relationships in the community that are important and will continue to be of value in the future.
As 2020 begins, look for ways to love this community by reaching out to causes, people and organizations that make this such an amazing place to live and work. We at Prescott Maid to Order commit another year to doing just that. We love our community! QCBN
