The Yavapai College budget for the fiscal year that starts July 1 will be the first item on the agenda when the College’s District Governing Board (DGB) meets on Tuesday, May 13, 1 p.m. at the YC Career & Technical Education Center, 220 Ruger Road, near the Prescott Airport. The meeting is open to the public.
The agenda includes time for public comment before Board members discuss and vote on the budget. The proposed budget for FY15 is just under $84 million, 1.2 percent less than the FY14 budget. The FY15 budget does not include an increase in the Yavapai County property tax levy. The proposed budget is posted on the YC web site athttp://www.yc.edu/budget/.
Other agenda items are:
Discussion of an Intergovernmental Agreement (IGA) between Superior Court in Yavapai County and Yavapai College to provide a Youth Summer Training and Enrichment Program;
An update on formation of a Verde Valley Advisory Committee;
A report on developments within the College’s Career and Technical Education programs.
The meeting is expected to adjourn around 4 p.m. when Board members will tour the Air Traffic Control (ATC) Lab and Flight Simulator on the CTEC campus. The tour is open to the public, also.

The DGB, which is composed of elected Yavapai County residents from five districts, is responsible for governing on behalf of and is accountable to Yavapai County taxpayers.
