The Yavapai College District Governing Board (DGB) will hold its regular monthly meeting on Tuesday, October 14, 1 p.m. at the Verde Valley Campus, 601 Black Hills Drive in Clarkdale. The meeting is open to the public.
The meeting agenda includes consideration of new certificate programs in computed tomography and magnetic resonance, updates on the YC Sedona Center, the Verde Valley Campus and the Southwest Wine Center, and a report on and discussion of the Verde Valley Board Advisory Committee. YC Vice President Stuart Blacklaw will give the Board an update on The Lead, a proposed program designed to acclimate high school graduates to college life and create the environment that leads to a successful start in college.
The meeting is expected to adjourn around 3:30 p.m. Board members will then join community members for an Open House at the Yavapai College Sedona Center, 4215 Arts Village Drive in Sedona. The event celebrates the culmination of 12 years of negotiations between the College and the owner of the Sedona Cultural Park that led to the recent agreement that will allow the College to stay in its Sedona facility.

The DGB, which is composed of elected Yavapai County residents from five districts in the county, is responsible for governing on behalf of and is accountable to Yavapai County taxpayers and residents.
