The modern senior center is the first of its kind constructed in Arizona by the Affinity Living Group (ALG), a major national provider of assisted living care.
The 106-unit property offers residents 13 different floor plans, ranging from studio to one- and two-bedroom spaces from 260 to 710 square feet, according to The Landings Executive Director Gail Hitt. Units come furnished in the living and sleeping areas and have some appliances such as refrigerators. All have HVAC, cable and WiFi. Parking is free.
Hitt, who has several years of experience working in senior care centers, said on-site facilities are numerous. They include a library-study area, theater, meeting/game room, workout rooms, several common areas and a bistro. She says programs and activities also will be available for residents.
“We’ll have an activity director who will plan and coordinate hosted outings [and] cultural events and programs. We’ll also have transportation to shopping areas, all at no expense, except for what the event or program itself might cost,” she said.
Hitt noted that, already, The Landings has sponsored a successful community event – the “Share the Food” drive last month. “We cooperated with the Yavapai County Food Bank in a joint effort to combat family and senior food insecurity. We are a part of the greater community, and we are committed to helping families, children and seniors.”
Other on-site employees will include administrators, a resident care director, LPNs, certified medication aides, support staff, housekeeping and maintenance staff. The number of initial employees will be determined by the number of residents, but ultimately, it is expected that more than 60 staff members will be working at The Landings.
Part of a National Chain
The modern senior center is the first of its kind constructed in Arizona by the Affinity Living Group (ALG), a major national provider of assisted living care. It is rated seventh in the nation for providing assisted living, and is the fourth largest for Alzheimer’s and memory care.
Headquartered in Hickory, North Carolina, ALG operates more than 100 senior care centers in eight states, most of which are in the east.
One of the owner-developers is Jeffrey Fleischer, from Novo Living Properties in Phoenix. In exclusive comments to QCBN, Fleischer said he was most proud of the flexibility available to residents. “We’re enthusiastic about being able to provide so many ranges of care – independent living, assisted living, secured living.”
Hitt views The Landings as an all-inclusive senior living setting where residents don’t have to worry about yard work or daily tasks on the property. “Our job is to make life as easy and comfortable as possible for you.”
