With new homes under construction throughout the Quad Cities area, officials with Mandalay Homes are optimistic about future home sales.
Currently, Mandalay Homes has operations underway in Prescott, Prescott Valley and Chino Valley, with its home office in Prescott.
“What we think makes our homes unique is that our construction processes are designed to be energy efficient,” said Marketing Manager Jessica Walls. She notes the U.S. Department of Energy has recognized Mandalay Homes as “one of the innovative home builders in America,” and says the builder was named as the 2017 Energy Partner of the Year.
Mandalay-built homes use 60 percent less energy because of the multi-layer insulation and “AeroBarrier” sealing technology, which fills gaps and small spaces, she says. This results in reduced heating and air conditioning costs, and requires 60 percent few solar panels.
New Communities in the Quad Cities
In Prescott, homes are being built in one development called the Dells. The master-planned community is located in a 1,100-acre site on the northeast border of Prescott, just off SR 89A.
Buyers can choose from several floorplans, ranging in size from 1,462 to 2,167 square feet; many sites offer open space and 360-degree views. Hiking and biking trails lead out in all directions. Homes are located in three different neighborhoods: The Overlook, the Foothills and Ridgeview.
The Foothills and Ridgeview are part of the second phase of The Dells. The Foothills will have floor plans ranging from 1,600 to more than 2,100 square feet, with a wide range of options. Floor plans for The Ridgeview single home community are still being created.
Another Mandalay Homes site is Yavapai Hills in Prescott. The master-planned community is located in rolling terrain on the northeast edge of SR 69. Homeowners can select lots and pick from floorplans ranging from 1,917 to 2,688 square feet, along with custom features.
Prescott Valley has Three Mandalay Home Developments
The greater Prescott Valley area has three different locations where Mandalay Homes are being built. They are Mingus West and Mountain Gate, both located east of Prescott Valley on SR 89A headed toward Jerome and Clarkdale. Buyers are offered large lot sizes and several floorplans, all of which allow for customization. Floorplans range from 1,844 to 2,489 square feet.
Open space and far-reaching views are features of both these locations.
Paved roads take residents into shopping, entertainment, business, schools, medical services and other conveniences to the west.
Still to come in Prescott Valley is a neighborhood called Jasper, west of Glassford Hill Road at the north edge of Prescott Valley. Walls says homes are designed to exceed current construction standards for innovative energy efficient and stylistic home designs. Through the years, it is speculated that 3,600 homes will be constructed with a wide variety of floor plans. Mandalay Homes is the first featured builder in this master-planned community.
Chino Valley Has Three Mandalay Home Projects
Chino Valley has three site locations for Mandalay Homes: Molly Rae, Bright Star and Highlands Ranch. Each distinct development is easily accessible from SR 89, which runs through the center of the Town of Chino Valley. Buyers can choose from energy-efficient floorplans ranging from 1,341 square feet to as large of 2,475 square feet in the rolling terrain and dominantly rural environment. Options include single family homes, clustered patio homes and custom residences.
Long-Term Commitment
Walls, a native of Mayer, says Mandalay Homes is also building in Cottonwood/Clarkdale, Wickenburg and Phoenix and wants to be among the premier new homebuilders in the Quad Cities. The company is planning to sell more than 300 homes this year if the economy and population continues to grow.
Prices vary among the developments. “We have homes that start in the mid to high $200s. They can go all the way up to the $700s or more in some of the higher end communities, depending on the interior finishes selected,” said Walls. QCBN
