You might have noticed the beautiful new stage expansion at the Prescott Valley Civic Center, and now, we invite you to save the date for a ribbon cutting and first event!

The Prescott Valley Arts and Culture Commission invites all to attend the “Theater on the Green” ribbon cutting ceremony and premier performances at the newly improved Civic Center Amphitheater on Saturday, April 11, 5:30 – 8 p.m.

Enjoy performances from the Bradshaw Mountain High School Jazz Band, the Mile High Comedy Theater, and the Yavapai College Jazz Band.

Bring your lawn chairs and blankets and please remember – service animals only.

Pick up dinner for the event:  $15+tax Box Dinners (chicken, beef, or vegetarian wraps, pasta salad and lemon bars) are available for purchase at Cork and Cuisine, 2985 N. Center Court, Tues – Sat. 11 a.m. – 10 p.m. Pre-orders will be accepted until April 3. (Dinners may also be purchased at the event but are limited on a first come, first served basis).

Snacks also will be available from Bradshaw Mountain Band Boosters.

In recognition of national Women’s History Month, Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University (ERAU) Aviation History Program presents the unique and fascinating story of the women who flew in WW II as members of the Women’s Airforce Service Pilots (WASP), by Natalie Stewart-Smith, adjunct faculty ERAU College of Arts and Sciences.  Her thesis on the WASP was the very first academic study of this organization.  The study is based on extensive research and numerous personal interviews, including with WASP founder Jacqueline Cochran. The military contribution of women fliers during World War I and their aviation activities during the years between WWI and WWII, a seldom heard part of the WASP story, is foundational.  For more information about The Women Ariforce Service Pilots (WASP) of World War II, a free, public event March 18 at 7:00 PM, call professor Manderfield at 928-777-6985.

Feb 21 – Newcomer Gardening (Free Soil Sampling)

Learn all the mountain secrets to local garden success. This is an information pack class guaranteed to increase garden blooms and fruit this year. Bring a soil sample receive a free soil test done right on sight with advice on how to improve this years garden. You will know exactly what to do with your dirt this year.

Feb 28 – Raised Bed Gardening Best Practices

See if raised garden beds are right for you. Students learn the correct materials to build with, soils 101, the right food for the right plant and more. Learn, Grow, Love your garden as it rises above the rocks and boulders in the yard. For less care and ease think “Raised Beds”.
