For the ninth year in a row, Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University’s Phi Beta Lambda (PBL) Business Club dominated the 2015 PBL Arizona Leadership Conference Competition, which was held at ERAU-Prescott on April 3-4. The annual event, now in its 45th year, is sponsored by the Future Business Leaders of America – Phi Beta Lambda (FBLA-PBL), which is the largest student business organization in the world. FBLA-PBL’s primary goal is to help students develop business and leadership skills for a competitive edge in their future careers.
During the conference, several individual and team competitive events are held. Forty-one students from Embry-Riddle’s Prescott campus competed in 36 events and collected the largest number of first-places finishes (24) of the participating schools, as well as the largest number of total first, second and third place awards. This is the ninth consecutive year that the ERAU-Prescott PBL Business Club has prevailed at the Arizona PBL competition, since the club was reestablished at ERAU in 2004.
Competing in this year’s event were more than 100 students from Arizona State University, Central Arizona College, DeVry University, Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University, Northern Arizona University and Phoenix College. Embry-Riddle placed first in the state in terms of total awards collected, having earned 61. NAU was second with 15 total awards, while DeVry was a close third with 12. The results of all participating schools are shown below:
