Yavapai College will hold a free pre-nursing workshop on its Prescott campus on Tuesday, January 20 at 10 a.m. The workshop is for people interested in learning about the nursing program. The campus is located at 1100 E. Sheldon St. in Prescott, and the 1-hour workshop will be held in Building 1, Room 208.
Nursing department representatives will review the nursing program curriculum and admission requirements, answer questions and explain when and how to apply to the program. No advance registration is required for the workshop.
For those who can’t attend the January workshop, other free pre-nursing workshops will be held at the same location on Monday, February 16 at 4 p.m., Wednesday, March 18 at 9 a.m. and Thursday, April 16 at 2 p.m.
The Yavapai College nursing program offers an Associate Degree in Nursing that prepares qualified students for beginning employment as staff nurses giving direct care to clients. The YC program is accredited by the Arizona State Board of Nursing and by the Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing, Inc. (ACEN). More than 92 percent of YC’s 2013-2014 graduating students successfully completed the NCLEX-RN exam on their first attempt compared with the State of Arizona average of 88.9 percent and the national average of 82.86 percent.
