Hilarie Strong is the Prescott branch owner of MGM Design.
MGM Design just celebrated 25 years in Yuma and Strong opened the Prescott office last month at Wingspace in Prescott, where businesses share office space.
Matt Molenar, owner of MGM Design, who owns the Yuma-based business, convinced Strong to open the Prescott office.
Helping business clients with social media promotion can be done anywhere, but Strong likes meeting with clients in the Quad Cities area. Strong worked for the Pagosa Springs Chamber of Commerce in Colorado. Pagosa Springs is located at 8,000 feet and receives a significant amount of snowfall. When her husband, Ron, retired from the military, they decided to move to Prescott for the milder weather.
“We provide full-service digital marketing,” she said. “We customize it to what people want. I enjoy working with clients one on one.”
Strong, digital marketing manager for MGM Design, worked at the Yavapai Small Business Development Center in Prescott Valley for 18 months as a business trainer, which is where she met Molenar when he was leading a training session.
One of the reasons she likes working with Molenar is because he is involved in community service. MGM Design celebrated its 25 years in business with 25 acts of kindness, such as donating to food banks and toy drives.
Strong wants to copy that in the Quad Cities, as MGM Design has joined the Prescott and Chino Valley chambers of commerce and will soon join the Prescott Valley Chamber of Commerce. She has already donated time to build the website for the Chino Valley 9/11 Memorial website and has joined the Women’s Community Network, which helps charitable organizations in the area.
“That’s really important. They have a lot of amazing, wonderful women,” she said.
MGM Design is in the process of hiring another employee in Prescott and plans for continued growth.
Strong says customer service is her No. 1 priority. “I do that by checking in with clients. I want to get their feedback. I’m always looking for new clients and people can reach out to me if they have questions.”
Strong said when businesses use MGM Design for their social media and website work, it allows them to pay more attention to the other concerns of their businesses.
“I want to understand my clients’ point of view and help them post good content,” she said. “We can also do an audit of their social media to show them what they’re doing and what they’re not doing.”
The best part of MGM Design, she says, is getting to know the people and being able to help them. She says businesspeople learn they are not an island and cannot do it alone.
“Word of mouth is now online. Businesses need to have a presence online and need to have reviews online,” she continued. “If you haven’t updated your Facebook in several months, that’s a red flag.”
MGM works with all budget sizes, but she believes it is important for every business to have a marketing budget to help them attract customers and expand. “We can help at all stages. We can help with businesses that are just starting, but we can also help businesses grow.”
Born and raised in South Dakota, Strong has bachelor’s and master’s degrees in business, both from the University of Southern California. She and her husband have two children, two grandchildren and three dogs. QCBN
