The City of Prescott has hired John Cox to manage Ernest A. Love Field, its municipal airport. Cox will begin his new position on July 14, 2014.
Mr. Cox will assume responsibilities previously held by Jeff Tripp, who departed in May to accept an aviation management position in Oregon. Mr. Cox’s primary responsibilities will be to manage all day-to-day operations at the airport, implement the airport capital improvement program, and enhance the economic stability of the facility.
John holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Aviation Management from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University (ERAU), where he earned a commercial pilot license with an instrument rating, and has attained Certified Airport Executive status of the American Association of Airports Executives. He has 20 years of aviation management and airport development experience at various-sized airports, including serving for 12 years as General Manager of a large general aviation airport in Missouri. As a Senior Aviation Project Manager for an aviation consulting firm, he also directed numerous local strategic planning projects for airports nationwide. His most recent aviation position was at Phoenix-Mesa Gateway Airport, where he served as the Design & Construction Manager, responsible for managing over $40 million in development annually.
Mr. Cox is excited to return to Prescott, where he enjoyed living in the community as an ERAU student before launching into his aviation career.
