The next mixer is scheduled for Tuesday, March 12.
Daniel Carrillo from Real Hope, Inc. received the Hometown Hero Award with the “Hometown Halo” plaque for January. Real Hope started out small and local in Prescott Valley in 2018. Carrillo, his dad and a friend of theirs wanted to help combat food waste while also helping feed the hungry in the Quad Cities community. They already had experience with food distribution through their family’s business, Maya’s Mercado, and had access to trucks and drivers.
At the end of 2023, Daniel shared that they had rescued 10 million pounds of food that year, food that would otherwise be sent to the landfill, turning what might have been wasted into a lifeline for those facing hunger.
For the January meeting, Kandy’s Catering provided complimentary food and Adrienne Reynolds Photography took professional photos for the event.
Senior Referral Network hosts educational mixers on the second Tuesday every other month at The Center, with each event showcasing a Hometown Hero.
The next mixer is scheduled for Tuesday, March 12. The group is led by President Larry Larsen from Frontier Financial of Arizona and Strategic Network Partners. Eldercare advocates from all over Arizona host tables with information about eldercare resources.
