Like many events impacted by the uncertainty surrounding the coronavirus, the Premiere Prescott ATHENA Celebration and High Tea has been rescheduled for 3-5 p.m., Sunday, Sept. 20, at the Hasayampa Inn in Prescott.
Sponsored by Quad Cities Business News and Prescott Woman Magazine, the event will be an afternoon of encouragement, inspiration and celebration. Local businesswomen will be recognized for their career achievements, community contributions and support they’ve provided to other women striving to reach their potential. Community leaders will serve as judges who review nomination entries and select the first Prescott area ATHENA.
Although the application period is now closed, Prescott Woman Magazine Owner/Publisher Breeanya Hinkel says 19 impressive women have been nominated. “We are so thrilled about the positive response we’ve received from the community,” she said. “The prestigious ATHENA program provides the platform to celebrate the amazing women we have right here who are contributing to our quality of life, raising the bar for what success looks like, and setting an example for female leaders of the future.”
The Barley Hound, Rosa’s Pizzeria, Hawk and Hound Catering, Back Alley Wine Bar and Laserium Med Spa are among local sponsors helping to bring the ATHENA Leadership Award to the Quad Cities.
“It is truly an honor for us to acknowledge and celebrate extraordinary women of the area,” said QCBN Owner/Publisher Troy Bix. “The ATHENA Award, founded by Martha Mayhood Mertz of Sedona in 1982, is now an internationally recognized symbol of excellence and we are proud to be part of the worldwide program.”
The local celebration was originally scheduled for Sunday, April 19, at the Hasayampa Inn, but in an effort to promote public safety during the COVID-19 pandemic, organizers have rescheduled the event for Sunday, Sept. 20.
Tickets for the Premiere Prescott ATHENA Celebration and High Tea are $50 per person. A percentage of the proceeds from the event will benefit the winner’s charity of choice. For tickets and more information, visit prescottathena.com. QCBN
