Prescott Valley Police are urging community members to lock and secure doors and windows on unattended vehicles after a rash of vehicle burglaries and motor vehicle thefts. The majority of the recent vehicle burglaries and motor vehicle thefts involved unlocked vehicles and keys left inside the vehicle. Prescott Valley has investigated 30 vehicle burglaries and 18 stolen motor vehicles since May 1st, 2015. Three vehicles were taken within the last 24 hours.
Locking and securing your vehicle and removing valuable items is important. The community can help reduce our crime rate even further just by locking up and securing there vehicle keys.
