Gregory Novak, M.D., a pathologist at Verde Valley Medical Center, was the lucky winner of the Northern Arizona Healthcare Foundation’s 2014 Turquoise Ball car raffle. The 54th annual Turquoise Ball featured dinner and dancing for more than 450 attendees. The event raised more than $200,000, including approximately $20,000 from raffle ticket sales benefitting the Pediatric and Pediatric Intensive Care units at Flagstaff Medical Center.
The car, a 2014 Toyota Corolla, was donated by Northern Arizona Healthcare and Findlay Toyota, Flagstaff.
The Pediatric and Pediatric Intensive Care units at Flagstaff Medical Center provide comprehensive, child-specific and age-appropriate care with state-of-the-art equipment and technology. The specialty trained, multidisciplinary team of intensivists, physicians, nurses, therapists and support staff provide compassionate care to young patients and ensure parents and family members are involved in all aspects of treatment decisions and care. The Pediatric Intensive Care Unit is the only PICU in Northern Arizona.
In 1961, Flagstaff Medical Center hosted the first Turquoise Ball in hopes it would become “the outstanding social event of the Northern Arizona winter social season.” After 54 years, the event has evolved from a small dance at the Flagstaff National Guard Armory to a spectacular gala. The 2015 Turquoise Ball is set for Dec. 1.
