One of the newest medical providers in the Quad Cities area is Windsong Primary Care, located at 3221 N. Windsong Drive in Prescott Valley, featuring four long-time area medical professionals – one doctor and three certified nurse practitioners.
Dr. William Merrell said he and his colleagues, Milda Rogers, CFNP, Ellen Lorenz, CFNP, and Lynette Figg, AGNP, decided to open the practice when “…we recognized an opportunity to create a patient-oriented environment and practice where we can work together to provide quality patient care.”
The four professionals collectively have more than 93 years of high-level medical experience among them.
The practice accepts most medical insurance plans. “We also give patients options on where they can go for laboratory work. Based on what patients’ insurance covers and where they can find a lab that is convenient, we think they can find all they need at Sonora Quest, LabCorp or Yavapai Regional Medical Center’s various locations,” Merrell said.
Patients are invited to visit Windsong for wellness exams or other medical concerns. “We’ll give patients prompt and full attention and take whatever time is needed to educate them about their medical conditions,” said Rogers. She noted the medical team and clinic staff will work with patients, no matter what the medical condition – diabetes, weight issues, diseases, lifestyle modifications or alternative treatment options.
The same is true for patients who need referrals to other doctors or medical facilities. “We can handle referrals within three days. It is important that if patients have a Health Maintenance Organization (HMO), patients must be certain to notify their insurance company and update the primary care provider name which is cited on the insurance,” said Rogers. “That is an absolute requirement for us to be able to place a required online referral.”
Lorenz emphasized, “Our goal is to keep our patients mobile and moving so they can continue life as normally as they can for as long as possible.”
“We want to provide stability for patients,” Figg added. “We want them to understand that Windsong offers them a place they can trust to deliver timely and compassionate medical care.”
The group believes that remaining in good health begins with staying current on medical checkups and managing medical conditions. The scope of care ranges from pain injections and weight loss treatments to diabetic management plans and small outpatient procedures. The fully staffed clinic also has a physical therapy room staffed by John Mauz, PT, MS.
Patients may call for appointments at 928-910-7010, Monday through Friday, from 8:30 a.m. to noon; and from 1 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. Same-day appointments are available. Walk-in patients also are welcome.
